We have visualized squares one by one in Rook #1.

We will train to visualize a rank or a file instantly this time.

Day 8

8.1

Look at "Boards for training." Then, using the figure below as a reference, look at the 1st rank instantly.

Next, look at the 2nd rank instantly. Look at not only the 2nd rank but also the other three ranks: 1st, 3rd, and 4th ranks.

Look at the 3rd and 4th ranks in the same way.

Look at the ranks from 5th to 8th in the same way.

We are going to do it five times in total, so please repeat four more times.


8.2

Now close your eyes and visualize what you have done in 8.1. However, visualize them with the movement of your hand. For example, visualize the 1st rank instantly like moving Ra1 to h1 with your hand.

8.3

Repeat 8.2 without moving your hand.  Also, visualize the eight squares in the 1st rank at the same time rather than moving Ra1 to h1.

Day 9

9.1

Look at a-file instantly. Look at not only a-file but also the other three files: b, c, and d-files.

Next, look at b, c, and d-files in the same way.

Look at the files from e to h in the same way.

We are going to do it five times in total, so please repeat four more times.



9.2

Now close your eyes and visualize what you have done in 9.1. However, visualize them with the movement of your hand. For example, visualize a-file instantly like moving Ra8 to a1 with your hand.


9.3

Repeat 9.2 without moving your hand.  Also, visualize the eight squares in a-file at the same time rather than moving Ra8 to a1.

Day 10

10.1

I would say that you are gradually getting used to visualize a rank and a file instantly. Now close your eyes and visualize a rank at random. Randomly visualize the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th rank.

For example, visualize a rank in this order: 1st, 4th, 2nd, 3rd.

Please do it five times in total.



10.2

Randomly visualize the 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th rank.

For example, visualize a rank in this order: 7th, 6th, 8th, 5th.

Please do it five times in total.

10.3

Randomly visualize a, b, c, or d-file.

For example, visualize a file in this order: b, d, a, c.

Please do it five times in total.
