Goals, Effects, and Objectives

The Goals of training:

  • Improve your visualization
  • Become able to play blindfold chess

The Effects of training:

  • Improvement of visualization
  • Become able to visualize a chessboard and movement

Does the training improve your calculation skill?
Visualization is useful for calculation, but since calculation is related to many things, I don't think that visualization improve calculation skill very much.

The Objectives of training

Become able to:
visualize the positional relationship of squares
visualize the position of pieces
visualize the movement of pieces
visualize the squares where a piece controls
see the effect after a piece moves

These are easy things when you look at a board, but in order to play blindfold chess, you need those skills first.

You can learn them in the following items:
Visualizing a Chessboard
Visualizing Controlling Squares and Movement
Training for Blindfold Chess

Besides, there are other objectives.
Become able to solve the exercises without sight of the board:
Basic endgame
Simple checkmate
Simple tactics

Do you remember solving those exercises when you were a beginner?
To play blindfold chess, you should do that in the same way.
I indicate the right time when to work on them.
